New online tool: Web pages in different screen resolutions and display test

Neues Online-Tool: Webseiten in verschiedene Bildschirmauflösungen darstellen und testen

Under the title "The Web Trough Many Eyes" offers a new online tool ViewLike.us the opportunity to test how your site is displayed in different screen resolutions.

Just enter the web address to be tested in the field "URL" and then press "Check Up". The appropriate page is then loaded via Ajax JavaScript call to the interface of ViewLike.us.
Once the website has loaded, you can test different screen resolutions between the switch back and forth and the presentation of the website, the positions of advertising space, etc..

At present, tests can be performed for the following resolutions:

  • 800 × 600 pixels
  • 1024 x 768 pixels
  • 1152 x 864 pixels
  • 1280 x 800 pixels
  • 1400 x 900 pixels
  • 1600 x 1200 pixels
  • 1920 x 1200 pixels
  • iPhone Screen
  • Wii Browser

01-viewlike

The application currently takes account of the actual screen size and not the true face of the left depending on the browser frame and excluding scrollbars will remain.
Who "hard" working on the borders of the screen resolution should take this into consideration! For a "quick test" is sufficient but in any case.

A really good idea for an online tool in my opinion!
Suitable for all those who are in the dimensions of your website are not so sure.

Now that's a good idea if you have no desire to change its own resolution ...

I think a good thing that I have quoted it in my blog. Thank you!

Thanks for the tip! I was just looking for such a tool and am on most sites it ever landed in long queues.
My previous method, which so far - apart from a couple of times exotics - has worked for many resolutions and browsers, is a VM. The problem is only the Automatisieriung. At the same time can also be an advantage, because it can not test in the screen capture tool something like Hoover menus and animations or Ajax.
